Google Translate processes subtitle text. Text is sent to Google only after you select a language and choose Translate. Google Translate may load third-party assets while its language list is being discovered. Machine translations should be reviewed.
Translate and review subtitle files
Select one target language for the batch. Source-language detection is handled by Google Translate; this tool does not offer a source-language selector. Cue timestamps are retained while translated text is inserted into the original subtitle format.
Machine translation and data processing
Subtitle files are parsed in your browser, but subtitle text is sent to Google Translate after you choose Translate and complete access verification. Google Translate may load third-party assets while the language list is discovered. Do not submit text you are not permitted to share with Google, and review machine output before using it.
Supported formats and output
The translator accepts SRT, ASS, WebVTT (VTT), and SubViewer (SBV). Downloaded subtitles retain the input format and cue timings. Review any missing or uncertain cues in the editor before downloading.
