About Us

The idea for Subtitle One first came to me back in February 2020. I wanted to build an alternative to a popular site that offered a similar free subtitle conversion service. If you convert a lot of subtitles online, you probably know exactly which site I’m talking about! 😉

While that site was reliable, waiting in a massive queue during peak hours was always a headache. On top of a strict daily limit of three subpicture file conversions, the wait times could occasionally stretch into days.

Frustrated by these limitations, I decided to launch my own platform as a passion project outside my day job as a software engineer. I designed the website around a different architecture capable of handling CPU-intensive processing and high user demand. After some careful research, I knew I could build a solution to meet these requirements. Hence, Subtitle One was born.

I hope you find Subtitle One to be a useful, if not better, alternative.
